Risk Assessment:
Contingency Plans:
If the location(s) we are filming at suddenly becomes unavailable:
This can be due to a number of reasons, for example: bad weather (i.e. the riverside and hilltop), disruptions on public transport, or the owner of a shop or studio not allowing us (i.e. if there is a class being held in the studio). If any of these are the case, then solutions that we have come up include rescheduling when to film or even having to find an alternative location to film at.
If the cast is unavailable:
This shouldn't be much of a problem for us considering that the main star is Erika, a member from the group, and that we will only need extras for two scenes. However if any of them do unfortunately become unavailable, we will have to reschedule another time to film with them, especially if it is a main star, and also arrange and remind them of the times that they will be filming with us.
Problem with the props, i.e. they are too expensive or unable to get:
If in one store or on a website the item we want to buy is out of stock or too expensive for out budget, we will of course research further and look to other providers of the item. We may even check in the media department, as they have a prop box in which students are able to donate a prop at any time that they wish.
Costume- there are different outfits/certain items may be unavailable:
If like with the props part of the costume is unavailable, we already have measures to solve this issue. During the costume research Erika has multiple ideas for the outfit of her character, so there are alternative outfits if we are unable to get a specific one. In terms of costume change, Erika is playing two characters so we have planned what outfit she will wear at certain locations and if there is a costume change involved, in which we will arrange times for this and see how much we can do in one day.
Lighting issues, i.e. it is too dim to film:
We have many precautions and solutions to this problem. Firstly for the scenes involving a setting such as a dinner party we will rent out a lighting kit from the media department. Some outdoor shots we understand we cant do this, so we also have editing techniques to affect the brightness of the clip if we feel that it is too dim still.
Footage issues, i.e it becomes corrupted or lost:
We will take precautions, for example making sure we have charged batteries and enough storage for the camera. However if something as unfortunate as this does occur, we will have to re-shoot the scenes that were either corrupted or lost and make sure that this time we have a suitable file.
Injury and Emergency:
If anything serious occurs to our health or those of the cast, we will of course follow health and safety protocol, making sure what everyone is well and fit enough to film. We are hoping it doesn't come down to the case where it is a serious emergency, but if so we will take them where we need to go, for example the hospital.
Lack of time:
We are planning a shooting schedule so that it shouldn't come down to this, as we are giving ourselves enough time if we do need to go out and re-shoot any scenes or if anything needs to be rescheduled. However if this still occurs we will immediately get any outstanding scenes to ensure we are not behind on our production schedule.
